Driving Lessons

Big Blue Driving School recommends a 2 hour lesson once a week. A 2 hour lesson provides the maximum amount of driving time, and is also the most cost effective option. A weekly lesson gives the quickest progression towards that all-important driving test. We also provide hourly or hour and a half lessons if preferred.

Big Blue is flexible with your lesson times, fitting them around your life. We provide a door-to-door service, and lessons will always be on a one-to-one basis - we never piggy-back! Running up to your practical test, we also offer a Mock Test, which is invaluable.

We often get asked how many driving lessons will be needed to pass the practical test.

The DSA state:

"Those who pass their driving test have had, on average, about 45 hours of professional training combined with 22 hours of private practice. Learners who prepare this way, with a combination of plenty of professional training and plenty of practice, do better in the test".

This is, however, an average – some will need more practice, some less!

Private practice, where possible, is an important part of learning to drive. Big Blue will advise your supervising driver when you are ready, and also provide lots of guidance and help, as this can be a very nerve-racking experience for them!
